How to re-connect clients in Clarity that use Xero API data

If for any reason you need to reconnect your Xero client(s) in Clarity you can do so in a few clicks by following the info below.

First though you'll want to check if your clients (and firm) need reconnecting.

To do so, you can check if a business needs reconnecting on the 'Companies' or 'Portfolio' screens.

On the 'Companies' screen you'll see the text on the right hand side of a Xero connected business 'Xero needs reconnecting'

On the 'Portfolio' screen you'll see a red circle with a white exclamation next to the client name.

If you see the above you'll need to reconnect Xero.

When re-connecting businesses, you must ensure the original individual who connected the business, repeats the connection. For example if Steve connected ABC Ltd, and it lost connection. Steve must be the person to reconnect ABC Ltd in Clarity. You can see within Data settings who did the original connection.

You can quickly filter within portfolio view to see which User connected which clients, and if any on their list need reconnecting

To reconnect a business to Xero:

1) Open the business by clicking on the name;

2) Hover over 'Settings' on the top menu and click 'Data', and;

3) Click 'Reconnect'

This will reconnect that business. But only needs to be completed for one client if more than one has lost connection as this will trigger an auto-reconnection on the next automatic daily data sync.

So all Xero businesses will be reconnected, from just that one reconnection, the next day you log into the Clarity platform.
